Unlike standard hinges that are meant to be hidden, our decorative hinges and
straps are designed to be seen, each piece adds authentic blacksmith character
to any wooden surface they are mounted on.

Yes. Every hinge and strap in our collection is
individually hand-forged by skilled blacksmiths. The hand-forging process
creates natural surface variations, slight irregularities in shape, and a
three-dimensional texture that machine-stamped hardware cannot achieve. This is
what gives our pieces their genuine rustic character, no two pieces are exactly
alike, and that is exactly the point.

A hinge strap is a functional piece, it contains
the hinge pin mechanism and actually supports the door's movement and weight. A
T-strap is a reinforcement piece shaped like the letter T, used to strengthen
door joints and add decorative detail without serving as the primary hinge. A
faux strap is purely decorative, it has no structural function and is
surface-mounted to give the appearance of traditional strap hardware on modern
doors that already have concealed hinges.

Our hinges and straps are available in Black,
Copper, Bronze, and Natural Iron finishes. Black is the most traditional choice
and complements virtually any wood tone or door color. Copper adds a warm, aged
look particularly suited to Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial styles. Bronze
works well in both rustic and transitional interiors. Natural Iron develops a
natural patina over time and is ideal for those seeking the most authentic
blacksmith aesthetic.

The right size depends on the weight of your
door or gate and the visual proportion you want to achieve. Smaller hinges and
straps (2"–5") are best suited for cabinet doors, furniture pieces,
and lightweight interior applications. Medium sizes (6"–8") work well
for standard interior doors, decorative barn-style doors, and medium-weight
furniture. Larger sizes (9"–12") are designed for heavy exterior
doors, garden gates, and barn doors. Our largest straps (14" and above) are
purpose-built for oversized ranch gates and double barn doors. For T-straps and
corner straps, size your strap so it spans at least one-third of the surface
width it is reinforcing. For faux straps, choose a length that spans
approximately two-thirds to three-quarters of your door width for the most

Yes. Our hand-forged iron hinges and straps are
designed for both interior and exterior applications. Each piece features a
zinc undercoating for rust resistance, topped with a durable finish layer. For
exterior use in coastal areas, high-humidity environments, or regions with
heavy rainfall, we strongly recommend applying a clear exterior-grade sealant
after installation. With proper care, our exterior hinges will maintain their
appearance and function for many years.
